The true commemoration of Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)- March 13th 2009

Hadrath Khalifatul Masih Vth, in his Friday sermon talked about, the true way of honoring the memory of the blessed life of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Almighty be upon him).

The 12th day, of third month in Islamic calender, is the day of birth of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) where some sects of Muslims celebrate this day as Milad-un-Nabi- observence of the day of birth of prophet Muhammad ( pbuh).

The early Muslims of the first three centuries, after passing away of the Prophet (pbuh), had the greatest love and devotion towards Prophet and had an excellent knowledge of his Sunnah (practice) and his Shariah (religious law). Despite this, history informs us that there is no mention of observing the day of prophet's birth, as a Birth day.

Huzur said, the commemoration of the day as such is not forbidden with the condition that no harmful new things are involved. It also does not necessarily have to be associated with a particular date as long as one derives sufficient blessings from such gatherings.
Holy Prophet (pbuh) has demonstrated a blessed model for us in everything and that is what we should aim to follow.

The Imam of the age (on whom be peace) who God has sent in the world, said that the remembrance of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is most excellent and it brings about Divine grace, but not when it is included with moral defects which interferes with the Unity of God.
