Seek Forgiveness from God (Sep 19 2008)

This Friday sermon Huzoor emphasized on Allah's mercy and forgiveness for the Muslims who keep fast and pray during this Holy month of Ramadhan.

Huzoor says it is with Allah's mercy alone that one is enabled to fast. Allah creates a special environment for the month of Ramadan where He keeps Satan the evil one away from believers, so that he is not free to tempt us and make us difficult in doing good things.

Allah asks us to 'seek forgiveness' and says 'surely, I am Most Forgiving and Merciful'. Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said that Allah states "I forgive the sins or the mistakes, even if the sins are [the size of] mountains". Therefore, Huzoor says it is the task of us to seek and turn to Allah during this month when Allah's mercy and forgiveness is granted more than at other times.

It should not be that, we seek forgiveness during this Holy month and completely forgets about it for the rest of the year. Rather, we should strive and promise not to repeat our past mistakes. This indeed is true Istigfar –seeking forgiveness.

Huzur also said it is kind of difficult for us to keep strong and do good always because of our human weaknesses and Satan the evil one is ever ready to tempt us. Therefore it is only possible to stay protected, when we continue, seeking forgiveness from Allah so that he may cover our weaknesses.

Hence Huzoor says, even at a small mistake done, we should feel extremely restless and should promptly seek forgiveness and replace our bad things with good and pious things. Verily, Allah is with those who do good deeds. During these days we should pray for mankind in general and Muslims in particular. May we be enabled to gather blessings and do good works. Ameen.
